Hooray for employment! My brother parked cars during high school; it didn't stop him from becoming a firefighter. He was just promoted to the HAZMAT team... and on his days off he still valets at a 5-star resort in Honolulu. :-)

No sense in asking what if. Seems like you've done a great job: she's not in jail or on the streets. She'll always be in your life, so I don't think you have to worry too much. Plus, once she has her own kids, you'll be right back where you started.

I take it that they are looking to get married sooner rather than later. No long engagement? Is there a reason for the rush? I agree that you don't necessarily need to support the child's decision... sometimes you simply need to support the child as part of a parent's unconditional love. Not exactly easy at times... So true and the same can be said for the parents who complain about little kids sneaking out of their rooms and into mom and dad's bed, soon the kid will be a teen who locks himself in his room and never comes out.

Me too, Stephanie, though I once saw an episode of "Say Yes to the Dress" and the bride was 26 years younger than her husband-to-be, so I guess it's not as odd as I think.
