I wonder what would happen if they studied according to ethnicities. I was raised in Hawaii where the culture is extremely diverse and hugging is completely accepted, in fact, you are looked upon as strange (or at least considered a foreigner) if you don't greet people with a hug. The traditional greeting with a lei comes with a kiss on the cheek. People in Hawaii are very affectionate and hugs were often used to get around language barriers. What's more, Europeans greet each other with pecks on both cheeks, wonder how they would rate in the study. However, here in the continental US people are much more reserved. My young dd hugs everyone and some of her friends are taken aback that they receive a hug everytime they see her, but they usually come around and give one back. It's very cute. After all, who can resist a hug! Halloween Costumes for Cats - Blog Entry21 Oct 2008 05:03 AM Have you considered stocking up on pet costumes on Nov. 1st? I always see the pet costumes at Target slashed by 75% after Halloween and since pets don't grow like kids you could stock up and use the different costumes in future years. Just a thought since they were so cheap (less than $5) my dd wanted one for her stuffed dogs... I said no. But I did seriously consider it.
