I ran my first in 1999 and hated my time so I ran others in an effort to better my time. I'm not done yet, I'm running another in the spring (hence the blogs) and I hope it will be my best yet. I forgot about Wayne's running routine. Let me know what he says about the lactic acid. I swear, for years I was told that leg massages after long runs were so beneficial b/c they helped break down built-up lactic acid in the muscle. Boy, was that wrong!! What's a Parent to Do? - Blog Entry01 Oct 2008 10:58 AM I just can't get over the fact that the parents NEVER gave up hope even after 4.5 years I think Elizabeth Smart was found after 9 months, but 4.5 years, that is amazing faith. As for your experiences Courtney, I think we grew up in the same era when parents didn't even know what a sexual predator was let alone allow it to prohibit their children from venturing out on their own. I covered the Paralympic Games when I was reporting in Atlanta (following the 1996 Games) and the amount of coverage it gets is a blip on the screen (if that) compared to the actual Olympics. Did I tell you that they have a similar program at my grandma's care facility? When we were home last time my dd went bonkers when she saw two pups and a kitten being pushed in a pet stroller on their way to visit residents. Some of the residents are more out of it than others, but there was one guy who wouldn't give one of the pup's (named sushi) back to the attendant. It was very sad to see.
