Do You Punish Your Kids For Swearing?

20 Apr 2010 04:12 AM

I'm more into taking away rewards or existing possessions than sticking bars of soap into mouths. The threat of getting her favorite toy taken away is much more effective with my dd than a bar of soap in the mouth.

I meant to say that my dd is feeling much better. Thanks again for your kind words, PhilD.

Thankfully, the month is almost over. PHILD41, thank you for the kind words! Good luck with your new addition. I'm not sure what his/her special needs are, but I bet all the love you will shower her/him with will do more than any type of medicine!

Does Your Daughter Like Dolls?

Amrich, you are right; you can learn alot from dolls. I am by no means anti-doll. I still like dolls, but for some reason my dd is an animal lover, not a doll lover. Thanks for the comment!

Dealing with Constipation

Yes and yes. This latest blockage has been very stubborn so the peds tried two different rounds of med cocktails (we are on round two) and the rest of the time she lives on daily doses of Glycolax/Miralax. She also must consume a high fiber diet and loads of water. My heart goes out to your family. We've been to the peds almost everyday... but it's not always like this. When I am there I always think of the families who are forced to be there everyday (or almost daily) for months on end. Puts things into perspective.

Dealing with Constipation

I'm currently dealing with a child with an intestinal blockage. My dd has had intestinal issues since she was a baby and now 5 years later we're still regulars at the emergency clinic and my dd is a pro at getting xrays and READING them!

Dale, I agree with you and have never forced my dd to play with dolls. However, I will say that my mom also saved my Barbies and is disappointed that my dd doesn't want anything to do with them.
