Does Your Daughter Like Dolls?

15 Apr 2010 04:06 AM

Phil and Angela, I agree that turning off the TV does wonders for promoting imaginative play in kids. What's more, it eliminates exposure to commercials for more toys. My dd wouldn't have known about Barbie and her potty training pups if she had not seen it on TV.

Thanks for the review. I always classified Magic Jack as one of those "too good to be true" products.

When You Want to Take Over

You are not alone, Mary Ann. Interestingly, I find that in most cases the person who craves control is simply looking for stability and loathes chaos and does not have an innate desire to be mean.

Who Do You Think You Are

Great blog! I've heard only great things about this show. I have yet to see it, but I read that a bunch of big name celebs have signed up to be on, including SJP's hubby Matthew Broderick. It's produced by Lisa Kudrow--Phoebe from "Friends." Nice review!

Never a dull moment! The joys of parenthood! Did I mention that I just returned from the emergency clinic where my dd had xrays that revealed an intenstinal blockage... it never ends!!

And here I thought that 10-year-old boys still thought girls were yucky?! He wants to know when he can date? Oh Stephanie! Hang on tight!

Bizarre Disney Merchandise

Never mind the guy who came up with the idea; I want to know who's going to drop hard earned cash on it? Here's a link to a photo of the ears for anyone who is interested: http://newsodrome.com/animation_news/scratch-and-sniff-popcorn-mickey-mouse-ears-and-new-antenna-balls-16204418

Are You A Part Of The "Bratz" Universe?

15 Apr 2010 03:29 AM

I give Ariel a pass b/c she is a mermaid and what can you expect from a mermaid, Bratz dolls don't have an excuse for dressing as mini call girls. I get your point, though. Thank goodness my dd is into dogs and not dolls ;-)

15th Annual Epcot International Food & Wine Festival

13 Apr 2010 06:18 AM

I'd love to go to this, but I can't afford it. I think they cater to rich foodies. I know Disney is not exactly affordable for most people, but this is a bit steep even for them. I suppose there's a reason for that--they probably don't want a bunch of Joe Blow beer types mixing with wine and cheese afficiandos.

Be Afraid, Thrush. Be Very Afraid.

What was the outcome? Does she have thrush? Hope all is well.
