That's a tricky one, though I always thought that if your child was baptised in the Catholic Church, the parent is obligated by nature of the baptismal vows to take the child to church (regardless of civil divorce). I would suggest that any one in this type of situation have it stipulated in the court-approved parental agreement or other type of court-issued custody document what/where/when the child goes to church.
