Never Set Limitations

21 Sep 2009 03:28 PM

Power to the people! Excellent points... I think it's hard for me to image my 5-year-old as a teenager, though she has the attitude of one that rears its ugly head ALOT! You're right, though, as a parent how could you NOT support your kid?!

What's Wrong With the Rear-Facing Position?

16 Sep 2009 03:20 AM

I am familiar with those seats. I think I know what you are talking about. Do you need to adjust it each time you put him in and take him out? For winter, I would suggest removing the seat from the vehicle, getting him in and fiddling with the fit on the straps, removing him, putting the seat back in the car and using that measurement until he grows again. It is a pain, but the good news is that if you have trouble sticking your hand in between the vehicle's seat and your son's car seat, then it must be in very securely. That's a good thing.

Bad Mommies Let Their Kids Sleep in the Car

That's a good idea Ruthann. I used to tilt the carrier back a bit in the house using the bottom of a sturdy piece of furniture. Whatever works, right?

What's Wrong With the Rear-Facing Position?

drnewmom I too have three different seats. Here is the one we are currently using: http://www.gracobaby.com/Catalog/Pages/ProductListingPage.aspx?catid=10:41||1+10434:4294959424||1#/1826 My dd is a bit older than your son, but it's a good seat. I'm confused about your question. Tell me which seats you are working with and perhaps I can be of some help. I feel like I've worked with them all. Do you have a Britax?

My Wife Does EVERYTHING

02 Sep 2009 02:40 AM

Don't feel bad Kyle. Believe me the little that you are doing is a LOT more than some dads do or have done. The mere fact that you are cognizant of what your wife does and validate her efforts will serve you well now and in the future. It won't be this way forever--kids grow up SO fast. Soon you will be the one begging for sleep b/c your son will want to play 24/7.

Does Your Child Ride the Bus to School?

That's not nearly as bad as I thought it would be. Some kids around here who live in rural areas spend 2 hours on the bus (roundtrip) each day.

Does Your Toddler Fit Through a Doggy Door?

Yes, the PC nazis can really put a damper on a kid's natural desire to roam free and a parent's decision to look the other way.

Does Your Child Ride the Bus to School?

Geesh Samual, what time do those kids need to get up in the morning to get to school? Sounds like a long commute. They probably spend a ton of time riding. I'm surprised they don't fall asleep en route and miss their stop. I would never let my kid (even a 10-year-old) ride solo. OK, maybe a 16 or 17-year-old, but nothing younger.

Do You Leave Your Kids Alone in the Car?

22 Aug 2009 03:43 PM

I'm with you TheQueenofthecastle, what's more, police in our area are cracking down on parents who leave their kids in the car while they tend to "more important" things.
