For windows and mirrors, try vinegar instead of a store bought cleaner. It's cheap and very effective, and whatever is left over, you can put in a salad." And to add it : Wipe it off with newspaper!!! It leaves a streak free shine, I love it! Who Needs Fancy Cleaning Products?28 Aug 2006 02:53 PM I've learned that the mixture I made up myself is just as good for cleaning if not better than all those fancy cleaners. It's water, vinegar, a little teatree oil, and some peppermint oil for scent. :) Water, Water, Everywhere28 Aug 2006 02:51 PM I have always refused to pay for water. I had a friend say, "Well what if you were going on a long trip, it would be more convenient." But you know what would be MORE convenient? Having reusable containers at my house and filling them up with my OWN water. The Miracle School Supply28 Aug 2006 02:50 PM Plastic folders are great! I work at WM and I stocked up whenever we had them on sale. I don't have children who are in school yet, but I use folders for so much stuff it's unreal and I figure if I have a ton leftover I'll need them EVENTUALLY :) Are 10 for $10.00 Deals Really That Great?28 Aug 2006 02:46 PM The GS I go to often has these deals and I love it. I bought 10 boxes of pasta-roni and the expiration date didn't go bad for quite a while, I actually just ate the last box a day or two ago and it still tasted wonderful! I wish I could find them on more common things like the chalk and tissue that were mentioned, that would be great! 10 Uses for Cotton Swabs28 Aug 2006 02:44 PM My absolute favorite part about this entry is that they have such great practical uses but the one thing it seems people use them for most is something that is not recommended. SO has been using swabs for his ears and I've tried to tell him how bad it is. I love the idea of using them to dust, great job! Loss Leader Groceries28 Aug 2006 02:40 PM "I have often scolded myself for not buying enough of something when it was super cheap." I have done the same. My favorite thing is when grapes are on sale...I eat a *ton* of grapes and yet only buy a few whenever they are on sale! I plan on doing better soon though. M y GS often has them on sale for 99cents per pound! Top 10 Grocery-Saving Tips28 Aug 2006 02:38 PM Great article, giving you 5 stars on this one! I am going to show it to SO when he gets home and hope that he will start understanding now why I do what I do. He thinks bulk buying and generic product buying is silly, he also makes fun of my coupon clipping. Maybe this can help open his eyes. Saving Money On Your Pets28 Aug 2006 02:36 PM Thanks for posting this, I particularly love that you mentioned grooming your pets at home! I've done that for years and can't imagine why anyone would begin to pay someone else to do this. Maybe I should start up my own grooming business haha. |
