Why Your Self-Concept Matters in Weight Loss - Blog Entry09 Sep 2006 01:20 PM Lisa and Tristi, great comments. I admire your self-images. They're inspiring. Diary of an Overweight MOM-Day 1: Ready or Not, Here I Come! - Blog Entry09 Sep 2006 01:18 PM Wow! I give you credit for the sheer stamina it takes to fast. I think I'd go ape crazy if I missed just one day of eating...yeeks! Good luck! Diary of an Overweight MOM-Day 2 - Blog Entry09 Sep 2006 01:17 PM I finally got a digital scale too. The other ones leave too much confusion, and truthfully, if I'm doing this, I want to know the ounces! Weighing myself daily is a bit tricky because sometimes our bodies retain water, etc, so if it's suddenly up a bit one day it's going to be hard. Gotta keep going though. Good luck! Diary of an Overweight Mom- Day 3: Sayonara no-carb - Blog Entry09 Sep 2006 01:15 PM Tristi, I'm proud of you for your food decisions--it's true, eating all the "junk" is a quick fix for a bad day (in this case a really, really bad day) but it ends up leaving us feeling worse than when we started. I'm so sorry though about your husband's job. I'm thinking of you and hoping he finds something else very soon. If you need a friend, send me a private e-mail anytime. Diary of an Overweight Mom- Day 3: Sayonara no-carb - Blog Entry08 Sep 2006 11:52 PM Thank you, Diane! I had to laugh when I read the rice comment--soooo true. Diary of an Overweight MOM-Day 2 - Blog Entry08 Sep 2006 01:13 PM Hehe--sorry, Tristi, I had to laugh about the cupcakes. Darn PMS! :-) For me, it was a bowl of Cheeze-its last night. My exercise plan for today flopped but I've been eating well, so we'll see what the scale screams at me tomorrow. :-) Thanks for being with me. Keep me updated on your days please--the good and the bad--because they are all part of life and part of the process. And by the way, woohoo about the Healthrider--you go girl! Corn Dog Casserole - Blog Entry08 Sep 2006 09:17 AM Me too, Libby. I really like this recipe. I didn't know you could make a corn dog casserole, but I was so happy to know that you can! I love serving mine with ketchup and mustard on the side. Enjoy! Diary of an Overweight MOM: My Story - Blog Entry07 Sep 2006 08:52 PM Misty, you made me tear-up. Thank you for your sweet words. I'm so glad you'll join me! I've ditched the low-carb and am trying to be healthy (smaller portions more movement) so we'll see how it goes the next week and then I'll re-evaluate. It's a tough thing to do and not always easy to broadcast, but it helps to hold me accountable and to keep me wanting to move forward rather than give up. I'm so glad friends like you are joining me! And you, my dear, are beautiful as well. (hugs) Body Image or Self Image? Why Your Self-Concept Matters in Weight Loss - Blog Entry07 Sep 2006 08:49 PM Thank you so much for your words. I'm so glad to have been able to write something people could relate to. There are so many things we don't talk about, for fear of letting our insecurities out. Letting out the truth liberates us and lets us know it's okay to not be perfect. It's okay to struggle. And having support helps us get through rough times and move forward, happier and healthier. Thank you again for such wonderful comments.
