Some other members of my extended family are like that to. I happen to be married to a Turkish man, and let me tell you, European men seem to LOVE their food. It's been nice. My husband used to take pictures of my meals when we were first married. It was hilarious, especially because they weren't anything special!!! hahahah. Over the years, his noticing and appreciation have died down a bit but he's still pretty good at it. The toughest part for me is that he loves fresh ingredients. So, although he'll eat casseroles or things will canned or processed ingredients, I know I'm not in for any over the top praise when I use them. But I, being from here, love them!! At first I thought I'd miss the mayo but I don't at all. The flavor is light and yummy and it doesn't weigh you down the way most potato salads can. :-) Things to Discuss Before the Wedding - Blog Entry21 Jul 2006 11:59 PM I don't think you're being negative at all. It IS a delicate balance and a tough thing to marry someone either from a different culture or a different religion. And if you marry someone from a different culture AND religion, as I did, then it's doubly difficult. We've certainly had our share of miscommunication and even some all out tough times. I think your articles are enlightening and honest. Your Spouse, Your Image & Your Career - Blog Entry20 Jul 2006 03:43 PM GREAT article--so true and great advice! I LOVE Middle Eastern food...from any region. It's so delicious and utilizes such fresh ingredients. We don't eat pork either. Thanks! I love taking the time to make the dishes. They are unlike the fast and processed meals we often fix in this country. The presentation is simple but beautiful, and the flavors...yummy. Names for Muslim Boys - Blog Entry20 Jul 2006 12:54 PM I know what you mean!
