Do You Remember Your Memories? - Blog Entry

21 May 2006 07:29 PM

What a lovely article. I especially enjoyed your memories with your grandmother. There is one memory that I hope I always remember - when I "bonded" with both of my children. With my son, it was when I came home. There was a moment where just he and I lay in bed together and something very powerful came over me and in an instant my love for him overwhelmed me. With my daughter it was when she was born and they laid her on my chest. The feelings were very similar but their births were very different, thus, the different memories. I also have memories of my grandma singing me, Georgie Porgie Puddin' an pie, kissed the girls and made them cry, etc....very sweet.

Check out my Tomato-Avocado salad....it should be posting today or tomorrow. It's quick and easy. Or - my husband makes a Turkish version of potato salad with lemon juice, olive oil, and red or green onions. It's light and very refreshing, with no mayo. Just a few ideas :-) And Libby, I'll join the loser club too - I'm not going anywhere either. :-(

Babysitting at Six????? - Blog Entry

Way to go, Dad! You're absolutely right. Being given that absurd responsibility at the age of six is not good! Not only that, but the pressure on her will cause her undo internal stress that she may not be able to convey verbally to you. It can also lead to her making up things if there is much pressure put on her to "report" back. All in all, BAD situation. Who the heck thought that up??? Good luck - please let us know what happens.

No One Has a Good Excuse - Blog Entry

Isn't THIS the truth. I've been cutting (not eliminating) my carbs because I can lose weight without exercising since I just "can't" seem to find the time :-) but the truth is, unless I start, I'm going to be a flabby mess, even if I do lose more weight. AUGH!

Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and Fitness - Blog Entry

Good article, Heather. I had CFS and it was a nightmare. No one understood what I was going through and just thought I was being lazy. It was very difficult because i had a one-year-old at home too. Thanks for enlightening others about this - so many people just don't get it unfortunately.
