Sheri, you can make your own buttermilk really easily at home by adding 3/4 of a Tablespoon of regular white vinegar in a measuring cup. Then fill up the measuring cup with milk until you reach 3/4 of a cup. Let it sit for 5 minutes before adding it to the recipe--and voila! You have buttermilk. Hope that helps.

It was pretty good, Libby--mind you,it's no potato cheese chowder or anything, but it does the job and tastes yummy :)

Can you lose weight eating fast food? In short-Yes!

I agree, Lisa--actually, eating out on a low-carb diet is much easier. Like you said, you can order burgers bunless and a lot of salads are a good idea, too! It's just the TEMPTATION of the bun that gets us! Hehe

Forgot to mention: if it seems like you need more oil when sauteeing your veggies, try pouring in a little juice from the canned tomatoes instead. It'll do the job just fine!

Become a Food Writer

It's fun! I had one job where I got sent a ton of muffin mixes (chocolate chip, brownie mix, apple muffin mix, etc) and I had to create 15 recipes from the mixes. The cool thing was that I only had to send them 3 samples from each batch, which left me with a ton of goodies to keep at home. I found that job on Craigslist.com. Just start searching--you'll be surprised what you eventually find. Good luck!

I wish I did. I can recommend this: try to find any local magazines or newspapers that are just starting. Most of them will need a food writer. Then, go to www.craigslist.com and look at their Writing/Editing job listings. I've found some jobs there. The other one I got by chance because it was a magazine I subscribe to and I happened to write and express interest in writing for them at the exact time that they were changing management. Good luck!! Let me know if I can offer any more help. It's a FUN job. I just got to go to a really nice restaurant and spend $180 for TWO people--then I got paid for the article...it was wonderful. :)
