In my family we are both talkers, but each of us does more of the talking in different situations. I have to agree with Angela. I've known plenty of outgoing talkative men and plenty of quiet women.

Oh how awful. We are blessed to live in an area with loving and supportive neighbors and church. It is a good lesson to realize that we should all be reaching out to those who are isolated and alone.

Cynthia, Yes, there is something to be said for time being money. It is important to calculate your savings versus the time it takes for some frugal activities. If, for example, it takes me 30 minutes to cut coupons and look up sales. That seems like a lot, however; my last shopping trip saved me $92 off of our grocery bill (which totaled $74 for a full shopping cart), so I essentially made $104 an hour--not bad.

I would estimate that perhaps 85 percent of my kids toys are second hand and 95 percent of their clothing is (toys are a bit lower on that scale because of birthday and Christmas presents from relatives or for that one must have new gift).

I've been thinking of checking out our local dress barn. Thanks for the encouragement there.
