I couldn't imagine carting my child off to several activities a week, especially at four. It just isn't conducive to our family nor the best choice for us. But I also don't think other parents should be criticized for doing this, if it fits them and their child isn't overwhelmed.

Shampoo, conditioner and lotion seems to be overstocked in my house too. I don't know if it is a good deal or if it is simply that we think we use it faster than we do. I've donated some of it to a shelter, and that was nice :)

It is scary how products can be on the market for years before they are recalled. My husband's niece suffered a broken collarbone because of a poorly designed crib--this was years ago and she is fine.

Cat--are you talking about for the yard? If you don't want real grass, you could try ground cover or a pebbled yard. I've seen some great rock gardens.

I have a different laundry stockpile problem. I have some boxes of powdered laundry detergent. It isn't my favorite, so I have been just leaving it on the shelf and continuing to buy a different brand. Well, I decided to give some away and use up the rest.

Cereal is a big thing in my family too. I try to have plenty of alternatives, since cereal is so expensive, but we still go through quite a bit of it.
