Ah Michelle, while we are past the toddler stage (my youngest will be four this summer) we still have two toddler beds being used. My kids tend to run small.

So, by next year, I may have another toddler bed to spare!

When my middle child was still an infant, we took part in a study at a local University to discover more about how little brains sequence. My daughter sat on my lap and watched a screen of short scenes. I was told to close my eyes because research had shown that little ones pick up on the subtle signals given off by their parents. This helps babies learn about the world and decide if something is appropriate.

We have our set plugged into a light switch, so we can just conveniently turn the switch off and avoid the phantom energy drain. You can also do this by putting it all on a circuit protector (a smart idea for electronics anyway.

Oh my goodness. This reminds me of the little teeney weenie bikini I was once give for my 18-month old and the hand me down 4T pair of pants with the word "luscious" on the backside.

I tell my daughter that she is beautiful and valuable and we are going to dress her that way.

We have some of those sing along tapes here at home. It think it helps the kids learn to read the words as they are singing.

My husband has gotten better. He will sometimes pick something that is on sale, but that is not usually the case.

That is a good point Bethrorie. I think the charity shops are doing a lot more business now anyway. There is the thought that used must cost less than new--I fell into that myself. But you are right, the retail stores have to be competitive.
