I refuse flu shots because every time I have had one, I get sick. Really really sick. With the highest incidence of autism in the country, which may or may not be linked to vaccines, NJ has a nerve requiring this. Different people react different ways to flu shots, and it should be left up to the parents and the doctors. You can bet that someone in some drug company stands to make big money. That's all that matters here. What's the Deal with Mr. Meow?11 Dec 2007 02:58 PM Maybe he has decided that Wayne can stay after all. Serious Santa Shortage08 Dec 2007 06:34 AM I'm serious, the real Santa was recently seen in Montvale NJ. When he was little, my son avoided Santa. All those hohohosters, and the one we used to visit local who got tired easily and had a sing song voice - just not for him. But the real one is a professional actor during the year, and also owns an HR business. And he is everything Clement Clark Moore described in The Night Before Christmas. The closest he comes to resembling anything in a mall is his uncanny resemblance to the Coca cola Santa from way back. Serious Santa Shortage07 Dec 2007 10:17 AM The people in the mall are not the real santa. Just his helpers. The real Santa just did a breakfast with Santa in Montvale NJ last week. Everyone has a nice breakfast of donuts, bagels, coffee, cereal, juice, and they get candy canes too. And Santa walks around and jingles his bells and softly asks children if they are ready to come and sit with him and tell him what they want. Ho Ho Ho. Pictures are available. If you don't want to tell santa, thats ok. you can write him a letter. You can talk to him on the way out. And if mom buys a glossy 8x10 of Santa from the fundraiser lady for $10, instead of a picture, Santa will autograph it for the child - right in front of them - with SILVER ink. I have a feeling that in Anchorage, Santa is probably showing up a lot at fraternal organizations, neighborhood groups, chambers of commerce, and childrens organizations. Not as easy to find as the mall santa, but if you look hard enough, you will find him. The Truth About Santa07 Dec 2007 10:10 AM Myra, What do you mean... The TRUTH about Santa..... I thought only a few people knew that Santa is the father of an autistic child and lives in NJ..... All that other stuff about Santa not being real is just not true..... Please....... Celebrating My One Year Anniversary as a Pets Blogger05 Dec 2007 10:24 AM Two years of blogging! Wow, where did the time go??? Families.com was two years old this past summer. Lisa and I celebrated the second anniversary of our membership on this site in October. Catzilla and I want to thank Courtney and Aimee for all the wonderful information and advice they have given animal lovers. I have learned more about different animals, including monkeys, than I ever thought possible. Also, these blogs are great to consult when you are considering adopting or purchasing a new kind of pet. Tips for Traveling with Cats28 Nov 2007 11:23 PM When I move, I have a carrier that fits a small dog, and am putting his favorite sleeping bag in there. The drive is about 20 hours, so we will stop overnight at a hotel (that takes pets). Not looking forward to this with him. He will be medicated. How often do you have to offer cats the litter box? If I open the car door with him uncontained, he will bolt - so he will have to use the box in the car. Alzheimer's Disease: Forgetting Your Partner28 Nov 2007 11:17 PM She has always been one of the women I admire most. Still is. Family Counseling-Cooperating with the Ex28 Nov 2007 03:24 PM These are good suggestions, but when the other parent is determined to use the counseling against you, tries to intimidate the therapist, tries to hire a "second opinion" which is really an expert witness who will shoot holes in everything, then "cooperation" is meaningless and actually harmful. Frankly, if people can get along so well as to make any of this work, I wonder why they bother getting divorced. Having survived four years of custody litigation and protected my kids from my ex husband's boyfriend, it looks like a much more perfect world to me. "Hey Mom, I LIKE Gifted School!"27 Nov 2007 06:59 PM One of the interesting things about gifted kids is that they need the company of their peers, other gifted students. While this flies in the face of conventional wisdom of mainstreaming, it's a critical need that is often overlooked. |
