I hang little items off the cabinet knobs, and larger clothes on hooks in the hallway. It looks cluttered but it works. Redecorating without Spending a Dime - Blog Entry22 Jan 2010 04:22 PM We have a summer decor and a winter decor. It's unbelievable how cozy a room can become when you hang comforters/quilts/thick bedspreads/etc/ as if they were curtains. It changes the whole look and they're not bad for insulating the cold drafts away from the windows, either! One comforter was a present from my late aunt, all cats and orange weave. Another is a red/cream/blue patchwork. Two others are actual quilts got for $5.95 at a thrift store. I tacked some up and stapled the others. They make your place so private, you wouldn't know there's snow out there and they make keeping the apartment at 60 degrees actually livable. Shrinking the Cell Phone Bill - Blog Entry11 Jan 2010 01:33 PM I can't stand cell phones. I miss pay phones. However, my old uncle and I are the only ones left in the family, and he fell over in the grocery store. Had to be hospitalized. I'm his emergency contact. His friend had to call me at work, and I was in a meeting, so it was three hours before finding out what was going on. It looks as though a cell phone may be in my future. Sigh... It's holding two months now! It'll probably outlast the umbrella when it gets rickety and dumb. Ways to Jazz Up Thanksgiving Leftovers - Blog Entry28 Nov 2009 03:40 AM The best part of Thanksgiving dinner is the turkey sandwiches next day! Mine are simple: Toasted bread, turkey, mayonnaise and raw onions. Yum! |
