I work with homeless folks at a charity and it's rare that we see anyone from the "other" side who knows what it means to have no money. Now, most people who have a roof have a modest stockpile, and you've put together meal ideas that are nutritious, cost pennies, and probably taste pretty good, too. I'm always bemused at the cultural differences between the haves and the have-nots. We get rich and middle class people donating all the time, and I find myself thinking, "if only you knew..." Anyway, this entry cheered me. Bon appetit! Sandwich, anyone? Frugal Living Can Be a Blessing - Blog Entry28 May 2009 03:38 AM I agree! Did you ever notice how cluttered the capitalist world is? Once you break the connection to all this distraction of things you don't need, things the market thinks it can sell to anyone, you discover independence and simplicity. Life gets better, not worse, for learning what you don't want. Your life becomes yours, not somebody's idea. That's just wonderful in my book! Yay frugality! Getting Ready for Outgrown Sales - Blog Entry13 Mar 2009 10:40 PM I was wondering the same thing. What is an "outgrown" sale, exactly? And where do you find them? |
