Birth Story - Mirack

Mirack Jonathan Kingzley Hunter

Time: 2:44am
Where: My Mother In Laws
Weight: 8lbs 8oz (3.85554kg)

Mirack's birth was not anything like Damien's birth. My contractions were all over the place and I wasn't even sure if it was labour until it was almost to late. Every time they would start up and get strong they would stop. I tried walking to increase them but that didn't help. Finally I said screw it and put Damien to sleep on cushions on the floor at my mother in law's place as we watched a movie cause my contractions stopped again. After just getting him to sleep at 12:00am I stood up to walk around again to hopefully get things going but as soon as I stood up I had heavier contractions. At 12:15am I called my midwife and let her know what was going on. She sat with me on the phone assessing everything and after 3 contractions in the short time talking to her she called the head midwife and it took them almost an hour to get there. I was terrified it was already to late and I was going to have the baby before they got there cause it was contraction after contraction. They got there at 1:10am and after setting up everything and going over my chart they checked me at about 2:30am (my contractions were so intense they had a hard time catching me between them) they checked me and did everything they needed to do and I was only 4cm dilated. The midwife mad a crack about some women going from 4cm to holding there babies in 20 minutes but it was only to make me feel better and she wasn't expecting it to actually happen. I was on my hands and knees rocking when I felt the urge to push. They checked me again and I was 9.5 cm. I pushed for about 5 minutes and his head was birthed. After that was done we realized his shoulders were stuck but it was kinda a good thing at the time because his cord was wrapped around his neck which they didn't notice until they were trying to get his shoulders out. After they fixed the cord Brodie tackled me over cause I couldn't move and we were finally able to birth the rest of him. He did have allot of amniotic fluid in his lungs and we almost had to go to the hospital because of it but he finally spud most of the fluid out and started breathing better. It still took about a week to get everything out but it cleared up.

Now I have two beautiful little boys and both are growing up to fast for my liking. :)
