My Birth Story - Damien

After a very painful labour and about 1 hour of pushing Damien made his way into the world. What we didn't realize right away was that his umbilical cord was short and when I reached down to grab him I got a little to excited and pulled him up to fast and to hard snapping the umbilical cord. Other then that and the back labour everything else about his birth was wonderful. He was healthy in every way and latched real well onto breastfeeding.

I'm surprised I didn't need an epidural but I had a wonderful support team with both my midwives, fiancee at the time (now husband) and his mother and step mother. I'm blessed to have had such a wonderful birth experience and was happy to repeat it with my next baby.
