Actually the college sports do serve a mission. I had more people ask me questions about BYU football once they knew I was from BYU then people ask me other questions. The questions led to positive conversations about the church. Lavell Edwards is very well respected in the college football community and has made a difference.

I don't think that enjoying BYU sports discounts the LDS athletes at other colleges. My brother is currently on an athletic scholarship at another college and he is not resentful about BYU sports. He is still a BYU fan (in sports besides his own).

While some people do take sports pretty far, for most it is simply a fun past-time that does no one any harm. If you do not enjoy it, you do not need to watch!

This is true. It should be a matter of prayer as well. However there may be specific reasons that a certain calling does not work, while you may serve in another area without problem.

I know. I try to tell my husband that, but he is so anti goal that it is funny. I used to worry about it, but I was talking to him one day and he told me the things that he wants to accomplish and how he is going to get there. It's inside of him, so I let him do it his way and I do it mine. : )

I used to live in a smaller ward, where a lot of people had more than one calling. It really is a balancing act, but I think it helps the members to grow closer together.

Actually our seventh year was pretty pleasant. I think the two years of grad school previous to that were actually tougher, but we made it through!

The reason that I wrote about date night on Friday night is that the last two stakes I have lived in actually put it on the Stake Calendar for Friday night. Of course it is flexible you need to find a time that is right for your family. You should make an effort to go out or spend alone time together each week though.

Thanks. It really can be stressful to think about this. Once you have prepared for all events, you can let go of some of that worry and enjoy the place you are. It can be difficult to do, but it will bring greater peace of mind.

My husband won't give up his body wash, so he gets that and I use bar soap. I figure that way at least one of us is saving money. I really don't mind the bar soap. We also use separate toothpaste and shampoo. He is suckered in by advertising. I like whatever is the least expensive. ; )
