Five Tips to Help You Read Sunday Lessons - Blog Entry

03 Jan 2007 10:28 AM

The years that I have done best with this goal were the years I was in Primary or Young Womens. You really can learn a lot from the lessons, and I miss not getting them. Breaking it up over a week works as well. The key is to really make a plan and stick to it. Thanks for your suggestions.

That is great. Growing up we taught the lessons. I need to start letting the my children help (5 and 1). Also your boys can pass off Duty to God goals by teaching FHE--I think that the topics are pretty specific. You may want to check into it.

No problem. I am a very goal oriented person, but dh is not. We do this every year, and I know it is his least favorite lesson. But he does have goals--we've talked about them, he just doesn't like to write them down.

Wow! Thanks for the information. That is great that you can make them so inexpensively. We want those types of shelves, but they really are expensive. I will have to check the site out. Thanks again!

Wii Can Do It - Blog Entry

My dh has one. I must say that there isn't as much movement as I hoped for. You do move the controller around, but you can do it from a sitting position--even the sports games. It has a lot of potential though. We play the sports games standing up. My nephew got one as well, and all he really does is play video games. It was nice to see him break into a sweat when he was playing the boxing game.

I think that they need to come out with fitness specific games for the Wii--like they did for the other systems. This would really take it to a new level.

It is great that you are still taking the time to mentor new teachers, even though you are at home with the kids. The education system needs people who are dedicated to help it succeed in every way possible.

Budget Strategies: Budgeting a Variable Income - Blog Entry

It can be tricky. If you have the two weeks to adjust that will help. I think the best idea is to try to get a month's income saved up, and then transfer it in, like I suggested in number five. Until then it is hard to know what to pay, and how much to pay to what! Good Luck!

You can always do it next week. That is what we are planning on doing. Today was more of a whole day together family day, and much less formal than a sit down lesson. We are already slacking this year. : )

Good suggestions. When I feel down or want to bring the spirit in I love to listen to music by Cherie Call. Her CDs really help me to put things in perspective. I actually don't have any of the hymns on CD, but I've found that Handel and Mozart do the same thing for me as well.
