Five Tips for Rotating Your Food Storage - Blog Entry

In the past year or two many brands do now have expriation dates for the canned foods. I know that Campbell's soup does, as well as the Aldi's brand of canned fruit and vegetables. Usually the expiration dates are on the top or the bottom of the can. If they don't then you should be dating the cans as you buy them. I think for most of these items you should try to use them within a year of purchase as the shelf life varies. You may have a longer window, but you don't know how long they have been on the shelves.

I agree. Personally I try to be number three where I am using the food storage on a daily basis and replacing, although we've had periods where I haven't done any real grocery shopping for several months. Thanks for sharing.

I love this book, and all the ones that follow in the series. I also love "My Name Is Asher Lev" a great book about an artist and his struggle with his art versus his religion and bringing the two in balance with each other.

I don't like thinking of all that good food going to waste. You do need to make sure that you donate the food with enough time left on the expiration date for them to get the food out to people. I think the six month mark is a good one.

That is a great tool if you are going to do a lot of freezing. I think that freezing is a great method for storing food because you lose the least amount of nutrients from the food. I also love to eat frozen blueberries and peach slices. Bananas are good too.

That is a great idea! It is important to have rules for your family behavior and I think it is great that you used a FHE to set up those rules as a family. The rules you chose were great!

When I get there I will let you know. I know that you can order a sheet of Polish words from the Family History Center which will help you read the records. My biggest problem is that I can't figure out where to order the records from. I don't have enough history to figure out which region belonged where when. So I'll let you know what I find out. It is great that you went back to 892. That is awesome, and I know the French was very helpful.

My husband served a mission among Chinese people, and was told by his mission president that Green Tea is not acceptable. It is not an herbal tea. It has the same amount of tannic acid and caffiene as regular tea. It may have health benefits, but I'm sure you could find those benefits elsewhere. It is like saying a glass of wine a day is healthy, but you can drink a glass of grape juice and reap the same benefits.

Thanks for sharing this. As a teenager, I was sleeping in the car when a semi honked the horn. I thought it was a fire drill and I would have jumped out of the car if it hadn't been locked. I guess what I mean is that I really know how disoriented teenagers can be when they are woken up. This sounds like a great product, and a solution. I know that I would be scrambling around after my younger kids, but I don't know how much I would have thought about teenagers as well. Thanks for sharing this information.
