Preparing to Move 2 - Blog Entry

26 Jul 2006 02:37 PM

I'm gearing up for a move, and so I thought some tips might be helpful. We know we're moving, but we don't know where to yet!

Frugal Baby Care - Blog Entry

Some other tips include breast feeding if possible. It saves a ton of money, plus it really is healthier for you and the baby.

You can also save money by buying generic or store brand diapers and wipes. I think Target's brand and Parent Choice are great diapers. Luvs are as well, and are at least two or three dollars cheaper a pack than the other namebrands.

Cheesy Hashbrown Potatoes - You've GOT To Try These - Blog Entry

24 Jul 2006 09:03 PM

This is one of my favorites. I grew up calling them Funeral Potatoes, because you always take them to the dinners that churches provide for families after a funeral. My husband loves it when I add chopped red pepper to the potatoes. You can also buy the hashbrowns that come with red pepper and onions.

Is Your Child Safe in Your Neighborhood? - Blog Entry

22 Jul 2006 07:16 PM

I will include a site in a future blog where you can check to see if there are sex offenders in the area. In both of the cases I mentioned above the boys involved had no criminal history, and would not have shown up. The crime rate in the neighborhoods were very low. It can happen anywhere. Parents need to be aware of what is happening in the neighborhoods around them.

Payday Loans for Times When Cash is Short - Blog Entry

20 Jul 2006 07:45 PM

I agree with LeggsRobbins. I would never recommend anyone use a payday loan company. It starts a vicious cycle which is hard to get out of. I would recommend talking to your creditors and working out a guaranteed payment when you get your paycheck. You are paying more than you would in late fees in most cases in order to get a loan.

Judging Others - Blog Entry

15 Jul 2006 08:33 PM

I think that loving and respecting yourself can be one of the most difficult things you can do. I always seem to fall short of the goals I have made, and I beat myself up over it. When I talk to others I never point out what they didn't accomplish, but point out all that they did do. I have to remind myself to do this for myself as well. Thanks for sharing!

Managing Sunday Mornings - Blog Entry

14 Jul 2006 05:51 AM

It sound like you already have a great schedule in place. That is a long drive to your chapel. I feel that we've been lucky because we have always lived within ten minutes of our building. We may move soon, and a few of the places we are looking at would change that. Family prayer helps to set a positive tone for the day.

Can You Bring on Labor? - Blog Entry

13 Jul 2006 09:13 PM

The methods I have tried do not seem to work. I was dialated to a three for three weeks with my first and to a two for six weeks with my second. I did almost everything (except the castor oil) all to no avail. I've decided that I just go into labor when my body decides it is time.

Are You in a Unfriendly Ward? - Blog Entry

10 Jul 2006 06:38 AM

It sounds like you are in a great ward right now. I have been in both types of wards. It really can be hard to keep going when you don't feel like anyone is reaching out to you. I try to reach out to others now, because I know how frustrating it is to be new, and not have anyone want to be your friend.

Studying the Scriptures Brings Balance to the Day - Blog Entry

10 Jul 2006 06:35 AM

It really does make a difference in my day. I'm glad that we are blessed with peace when we read. The scriptures can be a great source of comfort.
