Ashkenazic and Sephardic Jews - Blog Entry

Hi Lisa: My husband's mother is also Sephardic (from Morocco) and his father is Romanian. Add to the mix that he became Lubavitch. I learned to read Hebrew the Sephardic way (at Hebrew School), but now we are around Chassidim alot. Most of the Lubavitchers in our neighborhood are from Sephardic backgrounds, and pronounce Hebrew the Sephardic way, but I sometimes I can't understand the Yiddish pronounciation of our Ashkenazic friends !(but I adore the sound of Yiddish!) Ah, the rich tapestry of Jewish life! Thanks for this article! Miriam
