Missing Trixie

Today was a very sad day for me. I have only had Trixie for about 10 months, but she stole my heart. Trixie is a 10 pound 1 year old Miniature Pinscher, a black and tan with cropped little ears and tail. My husband and I adored her very much, but we were overwhelmed with potty training difficulty as we both work full time, as well as try to manage our 9 rental properties, and have time for 6 grandchildren too, who I do spend time with. My husband and I decided it would be better for Trixie, who had to be left in a little kennel type crate all day long and hated it, if we found her a retired or disabled person who would be willing to spend their time with her, and spoil her as we did. We found just that today. A couple in their late 60's or so, he was home all day and disabled. They had previously owned MinPins, so they know they are active little dogs, and like attention. She sadly left my home early this afternoon with all of her gear. Had toys, sweater, clippers for nails, shampoo, leash etc. We already called the people and asked how she was doing so far. I was worried that someone may just want her for breeding uses, not to love her as a pet only. She is due to get spayed on Wednesday by the new owners! Also she was at the time we called perched up in the double recliner with new owners and had shared a nice snack! They had taken her to show relatives and all thought she was a beauty. So why do I feel like crying my eyes out? Hope I did the right thing. Had to do what was best for her in fairness, and my being upset is selfish. Guess I need assurance that we did okay, and we were told we can come up and see her if we choose to. I will wait until surgery is healed and she is used to new folks of course. The house just seems so awfully quiet, and I miss her little toenails on the hardwood floors. Please e-mail me at dfcatfish@yahoo.com with a response, as I am a ding bat, and not sure I will be able to navigate back to this site without difficulty! Hope I can, but new to this stuff.
