I think the stretches are very benificial and it's been shown to relieve stress. The key issue I have is the Eastern religious portion and if it causes someone not to be sober-minded as we as Christians are called to be. If you can stretch and pray, that's great, if you can do laundry and pray that's great too. I just suggest Christians be very careful and even research it. Ask the Lord for discernment. I think there is too much evil in this world to believe the enemy isn't capable of possessing or oppressing others. A Christian friend of mine said her class was very stretch oriented and the emptying the mind was more about putting aside stress and focusing on more positive (no need to be tense when you're trying to do a stress relieving activity). She assured me her class was not focused on the Eastern religious or new age-religion and was more about the physical benifits of Yoga. Because of the physical benifits of Yoga, I imagine we'll gradually see more acceptance of it while incorporating Christ by Christian groups.
