I truly did love teaching and I really loved my students. I do miss it and I find myself itching to get back into the classroom more everyday. Three more years! LOL! I wonder if I will still have what it takes in three years! What it Takes to Be A Teacher - Blog Entry27 Oct 2006 10:34 AM Thanks for the comment! When your blog comes out, I will link this one to it! I read it, it is great! Thanks! Schools Continue to Fight Bullying - Blog Entry26 Oct 2006 02:47 PM I agree! I think this is such a workable idea, I hope more schools start implementing it. I am sure they will get their share of false reports, but if it helps even one kid, it will be worth it. A Day in the Life at a Last Chance School: Take Two - Blog Entry26 Oct 2006 06:13 AM It is challenging, but I honestly say I loved every single minute of it. I really do think it was my calling to teach students with behavior problems. What Teachers Need Parents to do for School Success - Blog Entry26 Oct 2006 06:12 AM Thanks for your comments! You must eat such delicious foods at your house! I can imagine you aren't feeding your kids grilled cheese, tator tots, apples and jello for dinner like I am right now! Popular Actor's Controversial Appearance In Political Ads - Blog Entry25 Oct 2006 03:26 PM These ads are running non-stop down here in MO and I have to say, they are effective. If I wasn't already a supporter of stem cell research (which I am!), then I could perhaps be easily swayed by seeing Michael J. Fox twitching and moving uncontrollably in these ads thanks to his Parkinsons. Just knowing that this research could potentially help him sends a message. I am not sure where Rush Lindbaugh gets off judging anyone at all with all that he has done recently that has been in the press. LOL! No Child Left Behind Law Expires in One Year, What's Next? - Blog Entry23 Oct 2006 07:32 AM Me too! The No Child Left Behind Act really needs some tweaking and I think the NEA has some very good suggestions! What Happened to the Good Old Days in School? - Blog Entry20 Oct 2006 05:02 AM Hi Heather! It is so refreshing to hear that other parents are doing what you do as far as consequences go. I think it sends a great message to kids when they see if they get in trouble at school they will get in trouble at home. I was never in trouble at school (I did talk a lot also) and I think the main reasons behind that were that my parents taught me to listen to and respect my teachers AND because I knew if I got in trouble at school, I would have HUGE consequences for it at home. I never wanted to risk it. What Happened to the Good Old Days in School? - Blog Entry19 Oct 2006 07:05 AM Hi Valorie! I saw that fight on ESPN after my hubby told me about it. He only watches sports on TV so he informed me about it right away. I can't get over that there were players on both teams who got pretty violent and were given a one game suspension. I did read that they may hand out other punishments later, but seriously..what kind of message is that sending to children everywhere? You can beat up whomever you want and because we don't want to be too tough on you, your punishment will be pretty light. It makes me so angry. Okay, I am getting all fired up again! LOL! |
