Thanks Heather! I loved Jazzercise. I highly recommend it to anyone! It is a great workout, I was so surprised by how great it was. I have a friend who is an avid runner and she used to tease me constantly about going to Jazzercise, she thought it was a pretty easy workout geared towards the elderly. She couldn't have been more wrong!

Our first son was a preemie and was fed with a hazelbaker until I could nurse. I hated nursing, and I had so much milk it was ridiculous. He switched from nursing to bottle with no problems and weaned really easily from the breast. Our second son, I had planned on nursing for as long as he would let me, just because I felt that I needed to try it a lot longer than I had with my oldest son. However, I had some pretty big complications after his birth, had to have a second surgery and my milk just never came in very well, top that with a high fever from an infection as a result of the surgery and my milk dried up altogether, and I ended up formula feeding him basically from day one.

I don't think Valorie is on a tirade against formula feeding, I believe I have seen her comment before that not every mom can nurse for various reasons. What I think is that Valorie is very obviously passionate about nursing a child and will not keep that a secret. I wasn't offended by the end of her article, and I was essentially a formula feeding mom with two healthy kids to show for it.

She feels everyone should nurse, but I am sure that she knows that it isn't always possible for that to happen..for whatever reasons.

I have been reading these blogs about TRU with great interest. I was never a mom who could nurse in public discreetly, when I did nurse. I had to the boppy pillow, my shirt off, the whole nine yards. LOL! I am always impressed with nursing mom's who can nurse like it is nothing. I never felt that way. I also feel that something is fishy with this TRU claim. After reading Michele's blogs and Valorie's, I am certain that something isn't right here. Add to the fact that the woman who claims she was discriminated has a mom who is high up in the LLL, that really makes me wonder. Something is off with this claim.

I agree Valorie! Teacher's need more money before support staff does. It is so unfortunate that most people who work in education are underpaid...it is a big disservice to the profession. Thanks!

Michele, you are right. Those who parent alone while their partner is in the military should have been included in this blog. They definitely do the work of two parents and they do it for a long time alone! I don't think I could ever do it!

Yes Libby, kids will find a way to pick on the kid who looks different or who is nerdy, whatever. I do think though, that by educating people more on gay students and teaching our children to be open-minded and accepting of everyone, that gay students would not be so judged, so often. I am hopeful that by putting this blog out there with the information in it, even if it makes just one person think twice about judging a gay person for their lifestyle, then I will be happy. School should be a place where all children feel safe and accepted, including gay students.

Funny you should write this blog, I just saw a clip on the news about some teens in a local community who were playing with their parents gun and one shot himself. Plus, a local newscaster here lost her oldest son (14) last year when he shot himself accidently with a gun that they kept at home. It isn't just toddlers, it is children of all ages that are at-risk. We don't believe in guns, nor would we ever keep one in our home, and this is precisely why. The 14 year old who accidently shot himself was trained in how to handle it, knew better and the gun was locked away, he still found it, played with it and shot himself on accident. It is very sad. I am just not willing to put my family at-risk. I don't like guns anyway, so it isn't an issue for us!
