He doesn't work for one specific realtor, instead he works for any realty company or individual that calls and needs an inspection. I am sorry your home inspections haven't been up to par. We have had two (one by my father) and have been very pleased with what has been found. A good home inspector should not minimize any problem they see, a good one is honest and well-trained. My dad took an extensive class and then a very tough test to get certified. Not every home inspector has to do this, but the good ones usually are certified and well-trained. We are lucky because I know that I can count on my dad to find any potential problem, big or small, on any house we purchase in the future. It is too bad not all home inspectors are like him. I also recommend requesting a home warranty in your offer to purchase the house. Home warranties can come in very handy after moving into a recently purchased home. Sixty & Set - Why Age Doesn't Matter - Blog Entry28 Aug 2006 01:17 PM My mom just turned 60 this year and she looks good because she is living! Two years ago she had a life-saving heart transplant. With her heart condition we didn't think she would make it to 60, and here she is! She just competed in the US Transplant Games and is exercising for the first time in her adult life without running the risk of sudden death. She is fit and healthy and she is here. That makes 60 look good to me! -Kaye Education A to Z: E for Early Childhood Education - Blog Entry28 Aug 2006 12:30 PM Thanks Valorie! Feel free to link your article to mine if you want! I found this topic so fascinating as I was reading these studies. Toddler Antics: Do You Have a Little Nudist? - Blog Entry28 Aug 2006 06:40 AM I have two little nudists, ages two and four. They love running around naked before and after bath time and they don't care who is over to see it! LOL! Freshen Up Your Countertops - Blog Entry26 Aug 2006 04:50 PM Thanks for this! I have tried the spray paint thing and it never works right. I love the idea of the stick and peel tiles. I did some research...3M makes them and they do actually look like ceramic tile. I am loving this idea, but I am wondering if any stores in the US sells these yet, it seemed to be all in the UK, however, you can order them online. Has anyone tried these peel and stick tiles, they seem too good to be true! Give Your Kitchen a New Look - Blog Entry25 Aug 2006 12:03 PM Just curious as to if anyone has tried this? We moved into a new home last year and the kitchen island and the computer area have a purple countertop, while the rest of the counters are cream. I am wondering if I could try this out, but would love to know if anyone has actually had success? It sounds great! -Kaye My Very Excited Mother Just Ate Nine. . .: Living History and Homeschooling - Blog Entry24 Aug 2006 09:14 AM Thanks! This is a great article. I saw the great Pluto debate this morning! It will be weird for some of us who memorized the planet orders by using a mnemonic device to have to change that! If I were still teaching, I would definitely be using this topic as a lesson today! The What Ifs Happened Last Night..... - Blog Entry23 Aug 2006 07:24 AM Thanks again everyone! He slept great last night, so we are happy. He has been a pretty sick little boy this last week, so he hadn't been sleeping well and was waking up coughing and just felt lousy. I think his lack of sleep and just not feeling well may have been a contributor to this night terror. He felt much better yesterday and finally slept through the night for the first time since he became ill last week. As I write this he is standing on my bed (I am sick now, of course) trying to put his brother's underwear on over his shorts. He is much better, I can tell! LOL! I just pray his sleeping well continues and we have no more of these terrors, but like I said, at least now I know what to do! Thanks! The What Ifs Happened Last Night..... - Blog Entry22 Aug 2006 03:54 PM Thanks for your comments! Valorie- I did some research on night terrors today and it definitely sounds like what my son experienced last night. After reading the articles, I realized that we should have just let my son be, that we actually made it worse by trying to comfort him. I am hopeful we won't experience this again, but if we should, at least now we know. It was truly scary! Dads That Breastfeed: A Manly Man's Perspective - Blog Entry18 Aug 2006 07:18 PM Great article! With our first, my husband insisted on getting up with me every night and every time I nursed our son. I am so happy he did, because it made the entire process much easier for me and it was nice to have his support! He has been a hands-on dad since day one, probably one of the most involved dad's there is. He did everything he could when I was nursing to make it easier for me, and when we started giving bottles during the overnight hours to our firstborn(I wasn't able to nurse our second), he did all the overnight feedings(with our 2nd son also!) so that I could sleep, even though he had to be at work by 7:00 each morning. I seriously couldn't have gotten through the newborn stage without him. He still gives our boys breakfast in the morning while I workout before he goes to work and he bathes them at night, everynight if he isn't working. Like your DH, mine played competitive soccer also, he was captain of his high-school and college teams and coached his college alma matter for awhile after graduating college. He lives and breathes sports, works in the recreation field and considers himself a manly man, but he is also a doting dad, and I am lucky! |
