"my" weekend

I had the most fabulous weekend!  I think I mentioned that Jason was in the middle of doing two productions - well, Jesus Christ Superstar ended last weekend and the Witness doesn't begin until next weekend, so Jason brought me a rose home Friday evening and declared this "my" weekend to do wahtever I wanted.  Then right away Friday night he took me out for dinner.  It was nothing fancy because we ha to bring Leah along, but at least I didn't have to cook a meal and clean it up.  Then Saturday afternoon I got to take a 2 hour nap, and Sunday morning I slept in until 10:30 ( I've been really tired lately)!  Saturday night we went to visit with some friends of ours - four couples, as a matter of fact, that all have kids around the same age.  There was a lot of fun and laughs, but also some tears and sadness as our friends Ty and Becca shared with us that their 6 month old daughter has been undergoing testing for major issues - the doctors are thinking either cerebal palsy or something worse like a leukodystrophy, which is fatal.

And guess what?  Drum roll please - - - - - little Leah has decided to walk!  She has been taking little steps every once in awhile for a couple weeks now, but this weekend she decided to spend the majority of the time walking around.  She still cannot stand herself up - she has to crawl over to the couch or chair or find something to pull hersefl up on.  But then she will let go and take off!  Of course jason and I were the typical first time parents and counted the number of steps each time (we got up to 20!  I'm sure that will not last long.

One more thing, I've decided to try to "tweak" Leah's schedule and wake her up from her morning nap after about 30 - 45 minutes.  I would like not only to make her afternoon nap earlier and longer, I would like her to move to one nap around 12 months and I think this will help.  If she seems too crabby with the schedule change, then I will let her decide wake up times (this is the first time I have tried to control her schedule).  We'll see how it goes.  Gotta go,
