Announcing Becca's Arrival

Crystal and I are blessed to announce that Rebecca Anne ("Becca") has joined our family. We feel so grateful that she is finally here and that she is so healthy. She weighed just under 7 pounds, which is very small for us, and has a full head of dark brown hair, unlike our first two beautiful bald babies.

Becca is a very peaceful, content baby, and loves to be held. She likes to sleep with her arms above her head. We wrap her up tightly in blankets and she will quickly wriggle at least her right arm out, if not both of them. When she sleeps deeply, she has been "cooing" adorably like a pigeon.

I am awed at the sacrifice that women give to bring a baby into the world. Crystal spent about 8 months in bed, unable to walk, and then had to have surgery for this little angel to join our family. Thank you Crystal. Thank you seems such a trite thing for me to say for such a tremendous sacrifice. I love you even more and am so grateful for all you do to bring life and light to our family. My life is richly blessed because of your sacrifices. I hope that I can some day repay you.

During this Thanksgiving season, our little family has much for which to be thankful. I am grateful for mothers, the mother of my children, and my mother, who have sacrificed so much to give me some of the greatest gifts of my life. I am grateful for how birth and families help to put everything else in perspective, and make everything else seem like such a low priority.

I am grateful for the miracle of birth that helps strengthen my faith in a Divine Creator. It is so amazing that life can be created and sustained so perfectly in the womb. It is amazing how bodies can heal from major surgery such as a c-section. I know that there is a God, and I am humbled that he has entrusted three of his daughters into our care.

We are grateful for the many friends and family that have supported and pampered us through difficult health issues. We feel undeserving and immensely grateful for the love and support of such dear friends. Thank you. May God bless you for the kindness, love and service you have shown to our family.

That was absolutely beautiful, Nathan (she types with tears in her eyes). Thank you for sharing your feelings and your family with us.

Congratulations to you and your wife and daughters on the arrival of your beautiful new baby. I'm sure your family feels as blessed by you as you are by them.

I have tears in my eyes and feel so blessed just to read the words of a man, husband and daddy like you.... Thank you for allowing us to be a part of this!
