Hi! I've joined the site so that I can get feedback on a very difficult situation I seem to have married into. Hopefully, I can vent my frustrations and get necessary advice before I lose my mind with my in-laws and silly sister-in-law. I have a solid marriage, a wonderful husband who is loving and cares for me. He and I do absolutely love one another and are supportive..to a point. My family is difficult to deal with, but very loving and they try to include us in everything. His family is basically not warm, or really accepting. It's a long story, but it has spilled over into our lives like it never did before we were married. Anyway, I hope to find some peace through journaling, thought and feedback.
Thanks! IamWHO (627) 01 Apr 2008 09:41 PMWell, they do say that you not only marry your spouse, but also their family. I hope things get better. I'm engaged and dealing with something similar with my father-in-law. He is Catholic and I am protestant. His son is not Catholic and his father is upset that we will not have a Catholic wedding and may not even come to the wedding. But we live in different states, so it's not a major problem yet; but I hope this doesn't bring more future problems. I'm hoping that with time things will get better for the both of us.
