My problem is that I often say "yes" before I really think about it... and then change my mind. :( Stress and Sickness - Blog Entry29 Oct 2009 01:42 PM Hahaha it's like DefCon Five (the military alert level)... basically, it's what I call it when I'm super stressed out. :D And I actually got it backwards, apparently DefCon Five is the lowest level of alert, and DefCon One is the highest level of alert! Four Tips for Settling a Nervous Stomach - Blog Entry29 Oct 2009 11:59 AM Here's a bonus fifth tip: Don't eat things that already give you stomach trouble. For example, I tend to have trouble with dairy... so if my stomach is already upset, I'm not going to make things worse by loading up on the cheese! Stick with foods you know are safe and easy on your nervous stomach. Pets and Pregnancy - Blog Entry19 Oct 2009 07:00 PM You might want to start with the three suggestions above: 1) Make sure it isn't a physical problem, like a bladder infection. 2) Make sure your dogs are getting plenty of quality time with the humans. 3) Try a pheromone spray -- they can be comforting and calming. DAP (Dog Appeasing Pheromones) is one I've heard good things about. If you've tried all those things, you may need to return to crating your dog or try a training program like NILIF (Nothing in Life is Free). Good luck! Cursing as Pain Management - Blog Entry13 Jul 2009 10:51 AM Thanks, Michele! One of the researchers talked about his wife in labor as partial inspiration for the study -- the other inspiration was whacking himself in the thumb with a hammer. :D Warts - Blog Entry11 Jul 2009 01:33 PM Washing your hands is never pointless! Thanks for the banana skin tip. Adventures in Hair Removal: Nair - Blog Entry18 Jun 2009 01:30 PM I forgot to mention the BEST advantage of all: no razor burn. That's the whole reason I started on this experiment with hair removal -- to find something that wouldn't wreak havoc with my sensitive skin. I've had NO reaction to the Nair.
