Great advice, Sara -- I keep a bottle of tea tree oil in my bathroom at all times. It's been great for cleaning up the various cuts/scrapes/bites I've earned in my work at the cats-only boarding facility. :)

That's awesome, deedee! I've been trying to cut back on soda myself -- I'm down to one diet soda per day (most days) -- and drink more water/tea instead.

I count those as drinking water, myself... though I often end up diluting them further. I tend to use half a packet in a bottle of water, rather than a full one. (I also tend to dilute regular teas and juices, too -- I drink more water, and it's still flavorful!)

Welcome back!!! I'm sure your crew will be great therapy pets. With my grandmother's dementia, one thing she focused greatly on was my dogs. Had they been fed? Did they need treats? Did they need to go out? Moose spent a lot of his snoozing time on the couch with my grandmother while she watched TV or did crossword puzzles.

Crosswords and other puzzles ARE good brain exercises, and good as part of a healthy lifestyle. Dunno if just the puzzles will prevent Alzheimer's, though!

Letting the nail grow out will take time -- if you have a pair of toenail clippers, you can snip off the bent part and that will relieve some of the discomfort. If the broken nail stays on, it can still catch on things and be pretty painful! Good luck!

It sounds like you have a very healthy household, Dale! While I love veggies and beans, I'm not a big fan of fish/seafood at all... I know I'm missing out on good health benefits there, but I'm just not fond of the taste and texture!
