They would shock a child if they raised his/her hand, IF raising his/her hand has signified in the past that a destructive behavior was to follow. BUT what if he/she just needed to scratch his/her head? Where does the line get drawn. Some things that children are getting shocked for are supposed to be "signs" that something "could" happen, not that they always will. I don't know; I am just glad that I am not in the situation to have to decide personally about this. Is it OK to Shock Kids?05 Dec 2006 08:54 AM I very well may have over simplified. When I was talking to one of my Yahoo groups about this there were a few people who had familiy members who elected for shock therapy. I guess I don't really have a problem with shock therapy on severe cases. But some of the things that the children are getting shocked for I don't agree with. I don't think I could send my child to that school, but that is the good thing about America we can all make our own decisions. And I am sure it is a good thing on some level for some of the children. But not all of them all of the time. At least that is my opinion. |
