Habitat for Humanity: No. 1 Builder in Gulf

Habitat for Humanity has built 400 new homes in partnership with hurricane-affected families, making Habitat the region's largest builder in the wake of the hurricanes. Habitat expects to build 1,000 homes by mid-2007. Habitat is concentrating its rebuilding efforts in the four states affected by the hurricanes: Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama.

McConaughey Sells Car for Katrina Relief

Matthew McConaughey's 1971 Corvette Stingray convertible was auctioned for hurricane relief and, according to the eBay Web site, the winning bid was $61,600. Have any idea what $61,600 could mean for a Hurricane Katrina family?  Just to give you and idea: With that kind of money Habitat for Humanity could build a brand new 3-bedroom home for a family in the Gulf.
