Hm. Well, here I go. I'm starting a journal. :) We'll see if I keep it up or not (doubtful...) So, to give some background, I'm expecting my second baby in October! We're planning a homebirth with a midwife named Suzanne Ryan (free advertising for her: www.ksmidwife.com )! She comes over to my house for the prenatal visits. Let me tell you, that's a MILLION times better than going to a doctor's office, waiting in the waiting room for an hour, then sitting in an exam room nearly naked for 20 minutes, then having 5 minutes to talk with the OB! So anyway, I actually had forgotten our appointment today (oops! I need to keep that calendar updated!) but luckily, I was home when she came by! So she came in and I peed in a cup (yup, I still get to do that at home!). Then we stuck the test strip in and measured all kinds of good stuff... my proteins are good, I'm doing better on the water (although I still need to be drinking more... let me go get a glass right now!), my sugar level is good... it's amazing how many things one can tell about you by studying your urine! She took my blood pressure & measured my abdomen. I'm 28 weeks & 4 days, and I measured at 29 inches, which is good. Then we listened to the heartbeat (150... she wonders if it's a boy...). We talked a little about my birth plans, like who I want to have here with me, whether I want to do a water birth, etc. She spent a little over a half hour with me and then went on her way. All in all, it was a great visit! We scheduled another one for 2 weeks away. (291) 05 Aug 2006 09:18 AMWow! How awesome! I live in Kansas too. Your baby pictures and wedding pictures are super. I am a big water drinker so keep it up. I think the midwife thing is cool.
