Who to invite to the delivery?

Alright, here goes another entry. :)

I had another prenatal visit this past week.  Suzanne came and brought me a kiddie pool that I'll use to labor in and possibly deliver in.  I want to keep my options open, so I'll have the bed made up properly if I decide to deliver there, but I'm thinking the pool might be the easiest to clean up. :)  And, I've heard that once you're in, it feels so much more comfortable that you don't want to get out!

I've been thinking about who all I want to have in the house during the delivery.  During Jacob's birth, I had invited my parents & sister, and DH's parents & sister.  They were all there during most of the labor, and were all there for the delivery except my FIL & SIL, who had to leave a couple hours before the birth.

Since then, my parents have divorced & my dad has remarried.  So that brings up the question of whether it would be awkward to have my mom & dad both there... and I don't think I feel comfortable yet with my stepmom to have her here.

And, although my MIL was there during my first delivery, I plan on "letting loose" a little more here for the homebirth, so I'm not sure how comfortable I feel with her here either!  I think having my mom with me will be good, but I probably need SOMEBODY else to attend to Jacob if necessary.  My sister would have been great, but she's out of the country.

So I've got to get this all figured out in the next couple of months.  And we need to come up with names!  We haven't had any good ideas yet... and we should be coming up with both boy AND girl names, since we aren't sure of the sex.

By the way, the baby likes ice cream.  I had two large bowls of it tonight (with chocolate chips, chocolate syrup, & sprinkles), and there was lots of kicking and movement going on.  :)

PS: I'm 31 weeks & measuring right at 31.  I still need to drink more water.  The heartbeat was 140.  Everything's looking good!

Oh gosh, I read this and went and had a drink of water straight away. I had a drink for you Nikki. Good luck with it all - especially those difficult decisions around who to have there. My thoughts are with you.
