They cover the flip-down changing stations more completely than the little folding square that came with the bag, and then I can just wash and use again so it's not as wasteful as the disposable ones they sell. And with a 3 year old who refuses to potty train, they have stood me in good stead for a looong time with this! I like the quilt idea too, but we do t-shirt quilts and I think if I tried to quilt anything else my husband would have a fit. Non-Frugal Light Bulbs May Soon Be Illegal31 Jan 2007 11:03 AM Mary Ann (or other readers), have you found any low-energy bulbs that can be dimmed? Previous owners of our house put dimmer switches in almost every room, and we use them a lot (especially in kids' bedrooms). I'm eager to switch, and use the low energy bulbs wherever I can, but the undimmable piece is a dealbreaker for us in many rooms. 5 Ways to Save on Toilet Paper28 Jan 2007 09:05 PM I must add one BIG caveat to this: we were "welcomed" to our new-to-us house with a massive backup of the sewer line 6 weeks after moving in. The plumber told us that only single-ply Scott toilet paper (yes, he told us the brand, without kickbacks) could EVER go down our pipes if we wanted to keep them flushing. Even a single baby wipe or a couple of tissues have been known to clog our line. I shudder to think what newspaper would do. And snaking a line makes it very un-frugal indeed! 1 2 |
