A Kid Cook (book) - Blog Entry

19 Apr 2007 10:31 AM

Valorie, I think the twins could work well together with these recipes. They are basic enough (the recipes, not your kids! haha) and include enough steps that they should be able to divide and conquer and create imaginative cuisine as a duo - which would be adorbale, I am sure.

An Allowance Chart and Buying Candy! - Blog Entry

This is so cute. We started teaching our then 2.5 year old about money when we were overseas. She carried around her own 1 or 2 euro in her pocket and was allowed to buy a croissant or gelato whenever she wanted with "her" coins. She had to know that once it was gone, that was it for the day.

I agree, it is going to be a blast teaching her to be responsible with money and how to have fun spending it from time to time!

Encouraging Children to Take Risks - Blog Entry

09 Apr 2007 11:59 AM

Great article. I could not agree more. We need to allow our children the chance to take risks and succeed but also to fail. By keeping them safe and sheltered from failure we limit their ability to learn about themselves and grow as individuals. Again, wonderful blog.

Dad's Losing It: How have you been? - Blog Entry

Wow Hava, that daily bowl of ice creams sounds, um, excessive! haha, yikes! I think the Easter Candy in every aisle of the market and in the house is not helping...at all. Combined with the warmer weather and thoughts of soft serve with sprinkles and cookouts doesn't make matters any better!

What's So Great About Firefox Anyway? - Blog Entry

28 Mar 2007 01:08 PM

I could not agree more! I love Firefox and loath MS and their related tentacles, er, I mean products. I started using Firefox when I got my macbook (cause Safari is no good at all) and then switched to Firefox on my desktop as well. Good stuff!

What Says "Comfort" for Your Family? - Blog Entry

09 Mar 2007 08:23 AM

Comfort for me, is having the windows open in the spring time, the ceiling fans gently going round and listening to baseball on the radio. Naturally, the smell of my Weber grill cooking burgers would be coming through those windows! That is all the comfort of home I need!

Dad's Losing It: Birthday Suit - Blog Entry

Oh, that restraint has crumbled. In my Dad's Losing It blog posted this morning I explain what I mean by that. Not good at all!

Gustafer Yellowgold's Wide Wild World DVD Review - Blog Entry

01 Mar 2007 11:50 AM

It has just been brought to my attention that a brand-new edition of the DVD will become available on March 27, 2007. This new edition will be packaged along with a 10-song CD and a color poster.

Since there are eight cuts on the DVD, I assume there will be two new songs on the CD.

Great, now I am going to have to buy it again to get the cd and the poster!

Lauri, I just printed this off to try with my girl tonight. She is super-into practicing her letters right now and this should be a really fun for her. Thanks for the great idea!
