I was tied to a desktop for years at home and work, but last summer we walked into the Apple Store and walked out with a brand new, brilliantly white MacBook. I adore the thing. I have bought-in hook, line and sinker to Macs, laptops, iPods, etc. I took it to France with us in the Fall and blogged "live" from there. I will never go back to a desk (top) again!

When I was in Memphis I toured the Lorraine Motel- National Civil Rights Museum and it was a deeply moving experience. I plan on taking my family there at some point, partly because of that amazing momument to Dr. King and the entire movement.

I too love podcasts. I have subscriptions to ESPN's PTI, Grammar Girl writing tips, KEXP song of the day, live in studio performaces, KCRW live performances, NPR's Wait Wait Don't Tell Me and This American Life. Oh, and the New York Times Book Review. Way too much, but it is cool to put one on well I am writing or designing late at night.
