The Holidays in Hollywood—-How Are Your Favorite Stars Celebrating?

There’s nothing like reminiscing about Christmases past… and that’s exactly what Martha Stewart did on her TV show today. The domestic diva shared with viewers a special holiday memory she made back in 2005—during her stint in prison. I’m not kidding. Stewart took time during her daytime TV show today to share one of her fondest memories of her stay in a West Virginia prison. Apparently the crafty Christmas lover made the most of her time in her prison pottery class. That’s where she molded ornate clay forms of the baby Jesus, Joseph, Mary, three camels, donkeys, angels—an entire nativity … Continue reading

Fall Happenings In San Francisco

My best friend is in San Francisco this week for a series of business meetings. When she called last night to discuss who got booted from “Dancing with the Stars” I questioned why she was wasting her time watching TV inside her hotel room. She’s in one of the world’s most beautiful and exciting cities why would she choose to spend her time watching Tom Bergeron chide Drew Lachey when she could be shopping and dining at world-class venues? Her answer: She wanted to see if Wayne Newton would be dancing another week and if Jane Seymour was coming back … Continue reading

Farrah’s Cancer Free

Farrah Fawcett, the pinup girl of the 70s, just turned 60. But what better news could she get on her 60th birthday than that she is cancer free? If you remember, Farrah was diagnosed with anal cancer in October 2006. She underwent both chemotherapy and surgery. It is a bit strange in that her former love Ryan O’Neal, with whom she had a 17 year relationship, which produced one son, had just recovered from a bout with leukemia (that is now in remission). He was often a form of support to Farrah during her cancer battle. Also odd is the … Continue reading

Real Life Four Weddings and a Funeral

It’s been a busy few days for some of Tinseltown’s biggest stars. The media frenzy has finally died down in Sydney, Australia, where Hollywood glamour queen Nicole Kidman wed country-singing superstar Keith Urban in a candlelight ceremony Sunday night. The newlyweds spent their first night as husband and wife in Sydney, then jetted off on their honeymoon Monday. Meanwhile, less than 24 hours after they tied the knot, newlyweds Marcia Cross and Tom Mahoney picked up coffee in Pasadena. It was their first outing as husband and wife following their Saturday nuptials. The Desperate Housewives star wed her stockbroker beau … Continue reading

Hollywood Loses Legend Aaron Spelling

I was shocked to hear that Aaron Spelling died today (June 23, 2006). I know he was in his golden years (he was 83) and had recently suffered a stroke, but he was such a force in Hollywood, it is hard to believe he is actually gone. If you have ever turned on a television set, chances are you’ve seen at least one show that Aaron Spelling touched in some way. The Guiness Book of World Records lists him as the most prolific television producer ever with 3,000 television shows to his credit. Among the shows he produced were Zane … Continue reading

Kurt Russell: Rugged Child Star

Kurt Vogel Russell was born on March 17, 1951, in Springfield, Massachusetts. His father, Bing Russell, is a former baseball player, who played the deputy sheriff on the television series, “Bonanza” for six years. Kurt was a child star, landing a ten-year contract with Walt Disney in 1960 and in 1963, a part in an Elvis Presley movie, “It Happened at the World’s Fair.” He graduated from Thousand Oaks High School along with Michael Richards of “Seinfeld” fame. Richards was said to have voted Kurt the “best looking in the class.” Although he was well on his way to establishing … Continue reading
