Sometimes, I Actually Prefer My Kids' Company - Blog Entry

Well said--families really can be fun (most of the time!) I'm still struggling to find a balance--I think I do do better with a bit of time away (which I'm not getting since we decided not to hire a sitter over the summer). However, I learned long ago that sometimes the cure for being bored or frustrated with someone is more time together, not less--to discover what makes them tick or just to share enough positive experiences to outweigh the others.

Hands Off Homeschooling - Blog Entry

This is probably the biggest concern I've had about homeschooling--would I be able to push them as hard as necessary and still be sympathetic mom? My daughter has some speech/language/auditory issues and has to do a lot of drills that are just not fun--I do them with her a lot (vision therapy, reading tutoring etc.) but I wonder if we'd go nuts if we did it all the time. She is happy at our church s school for now so I'm going to supplement a lot at home and see how things work out.

A Family Divided Cannot Homeschool - Blog Entry

I think for a child homeschooling might be less stressful during a divorce than going to school. There is lots of face time with one or both parents, and the parent can follow the child's lead in when emotions need to be discussed or a break taken. The stress of having to perform for a larger group of peers and other adults is eliminated.

Certificate of Citizenship: Why Isn't a Passport Good Enough? - Blog Entry

We traveled, although Korea allows escorts. But our girls were older babies and toddlers--not old enough that anyone could explain to them what was going on but more into the separation anxiety stage than the younger babies. My husband and I both went to get our older daughter, then only my husband traveled to get our youngest while I stayed with the older two kids. My older daughter wasn't ready to be without us while we traveled that time.
