Depression vs. Depression - Blog Entry

06 Jun 2008 10:05 PM

Great post, Tristi. I like that you pointed out how the term "depression" can mean different things, from a chemical imbalance which requires medication, to perhaps feeling "the world on our shoulders" or personal circumstance. There are many people who may be able to offer support, like family, friends, pastors or counsellors or even books. Whatever the cause, I think maintaining our spirituality is a very important part of healing. Thanks.

I love that you pointed this out. I remember the scripture "the letter killeth, the spirit giveth life." Jesus lived a law of love, while the Pharisees were great at keeping rules and rituals. I'd rather be more Christian than more pharasee-like. Thanks.

We sometimes spend so much money on video games, or other expensive toys. But the best toys are often the least expesive. Ones that encourage creativity (crayons, playdoh, even just a cardboard box!) are the best at fostering kids imagination. Whereas videogames can stunt it. Love the ideas. Thanks. Phoenix
