Thanks for the education. Neat to learn about another place and how things are done! Marry Now, Celebrate Later, Save Money and Your Marriage? - Blog Entry04 Aug 2008 08:44 AM Thanks for the back up, Valorie! And it's good to see your life experience paying off yet again. Jeez. You're the WOMAN! And RuthAnn8, I'm with you. If I had the money to blow that big on one day I might do it, but when I don't have the money??? Not going to splurge on that. I knew there wouldl be others things I'd want to enjoy with that money more. (Didn't know what then, but then came the chance to buy our first house the year after we were married. Glad we hadn't spent our savings on the wedding and used it for the downpayment instead. It's helped us out a lot more over the years.) Different Strokes, Commands, and Dialogue for Different Pet Folks - Blog Entry04 Aug 2008 07:41 AM I'm not telling Murph about the dog whistle. He'll have visions of your dog in the country merrily chasing rabbits and will be hounding me to get him over to England to do the same! Marry Now, Celebrate Later, Save Money and Your Marriage? - Blog Entry04 Aug 2008 07:16 AM Thanks for the info, both Valorie and Samual. Why is 18 a big birthday there, Samual? (Here I believe it's because that's when kids can get the driver's license.) And thanks for clearing me up, Valorie! I wasn't sure if the boys got a celebration or not. Wikipedia sort of led me to believe they did, but I also didn't read it very close. That's what I get for skimming! Look at That Cat Grass Grow! - Blog Entry04 Aug 2008 07:13 AM So maybe yours is the daft cousin of Catzilla then, Samual? Thanks for the chuckles! Marry Now, Celebrate Later, Save Money and Your Marriage? - Blog Entry03 Aug 2008 07:20 PM A Quinceanera is a 15th birthday party for a girl traditionally celebrated in Hispanic households/cultures. For boys I believe it's called a Quinceanro...but not sure about that. It's like Sweet 16 birthday parties for girls. Do they have those in England too? (Sweet 16s? Or something else similar?) And you're right...if you have the money to spend en masse for a wedding, so be it. But when you don't...that's where I question the mentality of why you'd do it. But, heck, if I had the money I would've. Sure, why not? Look at That Cat Grass Grow! - Blog Entry03 Aug 2008 07:15 PM Is your cat related to Janet's Catzilla? (Janet McMonagle is the Community Manager here. Another handle you may know her by is McMama.) Funny comment. Thanks for leaving, Samual! Marry Now, Celebrate Later, Save Money and Your Marriage? - Blog Entry03 Aug 2008 01:18 PM I knew I could count on you, Jade! Thanks so much for commenting. I knew you were saving up to do something with travel rather than a huge ceremony. Thanks for clearing me up. And I'm with you...if someone wants to spend huge bucks on a ceremony I'm not against that at all. (Especially if I'm invited to enjoy the food and cake!) But I don't think it's a good idea to put it all on credit... Watching the Buzzards and the Bunnies - Blog Entry03 Aug 2008 01:11 PM Thanks Valorie. Glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for reading.
