And I Thought Declawing Was Bad? - Blog Entry

24 Jul 2008 07:34 AM

Thanks for your comments, Samual and Janet.

Samual...I really agree with you. It breaks my heart when any animal has to be put down for biting. We're not that quick to do that with humans who attack each other, but for animals? There's no qualms about euthanizing on the spot. Sad.

Janet...oh my gosh! Your Catzilla stories never fail to crack me up!!!! The images your comment brought to mind: a big sign with bright red letters reading "WARNING! Killer cat on the premises. Do not enter area without long pants and a spray bottle." HAHAHAHA!

On a more serious note though...I'm with you. No monkeys as pets. And that poor, poor marmoset...breaks my heart to think of the life he's led. Did they get him out and into a place where he could be cared for properly???

Oh man, I feel your sadness too Libby. There was something about this show...I remember watching it with my dad on my weekend visits with him after the divorce, when I was little. It was part of "our time" together and I can't help but think of my dad when I see that show in any version. Sad to hear it may be its end for good.

"Pudding butt!" That's hysterical! Not funny you're dealing with that, but might as well have some humor to help with it all, eh???

The cats are lucky to have you...and one day maybe you'll let one adopt you. They keep trying, but you sure are loyal to your Moose and Lally. No trauma for either them or an unsuspecting cat who doesn't realize you come as a package deal! ;)

You bring up a good point about the illegality, Tristi. That was something else they talked about. How they knew they were breaking the law and were adamant about doing it because they believed that forcefully in their religion. It was very interesting. Thanks for sharing your comments and insight.

Oh boy, I guess your yard is going to be a temporary cat maternity ward then. Yikes. Well, it's nice you have a spot she feels comfortable.

But boy howdy do I understand thinking you won't be able to talk your husband into keeping a cat...or two!

I hope it all works out. Keep us posted about when it happens and what happens. Now I'm invested and want to know what comes of it all!

New Neighbors and Their Outdoor Pets - Blog Entry

Oh dear, Deedee. Do you know if whoever lived in the house before you had pets? Maybe they left her behind? (Although, you'd think someone would know that and tell you.)

Hopefully when it does come time to have her litter she'll do so at her rightful owner's property...if she has one. But if you think she might truly be scouting out your place, maybe it'd be nice for her and the kittens sake if you could at least make them a safe spot. Under a deck? (If you have one.) Behind a shed...even in some bushes. I know, I know...that's the last thing you need to juggle, making a maternity ward for a stray. But it sure would be a nice thing in the long run.

And you never know...sometimes strays pick us for a reason. That cat might be an angel in disguise and bring you blessings you can't even imagine. (And I don't mean a herd of little kitlets to care for. However, being witness to the miracle of life is remarkable.)

OMG, Aimee, how awful you and the dogs had to endure such meanness! Glad everyone is okay though. But really, really sorry that happened to you 3.

Yes, thankfully, Dale. And the rest of your comment shows why you and your DH have been together for how long now?? Like 40 years? (I think somewhere you once mentioned how long it'd been and it'd been a good while. Understandable with your level of devotion!)
