This was such a great article to meditate on, Lyn. I found myself thinking about it yesterday when I began to feel a burn-out coming on. I realized it had been a while since I'd done for myself. I'd been so busy putting everyone else first. So today I took a walk. It did me good! Thanks for making me think about it.

Tristi, thank you so much for posting this. I hadn't realized you had, and then I was embroiled with my mom getting sick and being gone. So I'm sorry my gratitude is a bit delayed in coming, but thank you so much for including me! (And I have had a blast reading about everyone else too. Michele, once again you have demonstrated a wisdom beyond your years. I believe you are so right. It DOES take effort to hold a grudge and I think they're both just too tired these days to do it anymore. So glad your friend's parents had the same sort of thing happen. And you're right...in this respect cancer IS good! Thanks for the comment.

Wow, Lyn, this is some pretty deep stuff. I know I'm one of those that don't have human kids, and I admit I do a fair amount of talking to Wayne about our fur kids' antics during the day, BUT...we also talk about other things. His job for sure too. Things in my writing realm. The economy. Politics. Other current events. Local news. The weather. Our health. His running/triathlon goals. Places we'd like to travel to. Retirement goals/hopes/dreams/ strategies.

I guess I felt compelled to answer because I run into a lot of other SAHMs who have asked me over the years, "Since you and Wayne don't have kids, what do you guys talk about or have in common?" Your article reminded me of those times and I guess it seemed like a good chance to answer...
