Marriage Roadblock: Latin America vs. Europe - Blog Entry

17 Jan 2008 07:12 AM

Oh my gosh, Jade, that is Wayne's argument too, that the dollar can get us more down South rather than "across the pond." And this appeals to my frugal side. Even though I still liked Michele's argument about just as much coastline in Ireland as Brazil... But when I think about it costing me more, then I would not enjoy it and would feel guilty for going first.

Dang it. This might just be what sways the decision ball from stuck to in his favor.

Oh well. I WILL get to France and Ireland one day...

Thanks for the advice. ;)

I am definitely "out of the situation", Kateluv, but I would be very curious to hear from someone who read his book and how it helped them. Care to share what you found useful about it and why?

Do Men Get Hot Flashes Too? - Blog Entry

10 Jan 2008 03:46 PM

Can men suffer from hot flashes for reasons other than undergoing androgen deprivation therapy? Poor Wayne suffered at one time from severe hot flashes. We think it was stress related, or maybe electrolyte-deficiency related because it started after he did the Ironman. It lasted a year, but even now sometimes he'll get flashes too. Again, we think those are stress related but not sure. Any ideas???

Finding Out Your Dog is Deaf - Blog Entry

Butterflies77, you figuring out your ferret's love for mirrors is EXACTLY what I was talking about in another article too! About "Knowing Thy Pet." This is a PERFECT example of having some kind of unwanted behavior, trying to figure out what's causing it, and taking steps to make both you and your pet happy.

What a great anecdote!

THANKS! I may refer to this comment in the future.

And thanks for sharing about your deaf ferret. I had no idea that was a problem common to them. Learned something else new today!

How cool! So you found a way to train a ferret some sign language? This is such a neat thing to hear! I'm sure my friend will find solace in knowing if a deaf ferret can be trained, so can her puppy!

And how funny about the mirrors. It's neat you figured out she liked doing that and made it possible for her to indulge in her mirror time. =)

Hmmm, an orange cat WITH fear. So such a thing exists? Amazing. I'm so happy you posted this. I will tell Murphy not all orange cats are ruffians. (And what a cute trick your Sponge Bob's mastered!)

When is Divorce an Option? - Blog Entry

09 Jan 2008 08:10 AM

Oh my gosh, Janet, I didn't even think of this one! I would think for sure this is another extremely valid reason for divorcing.

I mean, I can see why some might stay together. Maybe they are the best of friends and have been together for 30 years. Maybe the gay spouse just felt it was time to come clean but doesn't want to leave the relationship entirely.

However, I bet that would be the major exception not the rule. An owning up would probably come a lot earlier than 30 years down the line for one. For another, for both people to truly be happy, it seems like divorce would be inevitable.

Sorry I didn't think of this sooner. I'm so glad you brought it up.
