Marry Now, Celebrate Later, Save Money and Your Marriage?

Thanks for the info, both Valorie and Samual. Why is 18 a big birthday there, Samual? (Here I believe it's because that's when kids can get the driver's license.)

And thanks for clearing me up, Valorie! I wasn't sure if the boys got a celebration or not. Wikipedia sort of led me to believe they did, but I also didn't read it very close. That's what I get for skimming!

So maybe yours is the daft cousin of Catzilla then, Samual? Thanks for the chuckles!

A Quinceanera is a 15th birthday party for a girl traditionally celebrated in Hispanic households/cultures. For boys I believe it's called a Quinceanro...but not sure about that. It's like Sweet 16 birthday parties for girls. Do they have those in England too? (Sweet 16s? Or something else similar?)

And you're right...if you have the money to spend en masse for a wedding, so be it. But when you don't...that's where I question the mentality of why you'd do it. But, heck, if I had the money I would've. Sure, why not?

Is your cat related to Janet's Catzilla? (Janet McMonagle is the Community Manager here. Another handle you may know her by is McMama.) Funny comment. Thanks for leaving, Samual!

I knew I could count on you, Jade! Thanks so much for commenting. I knew you were saving up to do something with travel rather than a huge ceremony. Thanks for clearing me up. And I'm with you...if someone wants to spend huge bucks on a ceremony I'm not against that at all. (Especially if I'm invited to enjoy the food and cake!) But I don't think it's a good idea to put it all on credit...

Funeral Arrangements: Loyalty to Dead Wife or New Wife?

That is why I want to be cremated and tossed in the ocean or soemthing. Besides Wayne, no one would visit my resting place. Why take up the space?

And if Wayne goes first, I'm like you...we won't be separated very long!

I dig your idea of a park bench, tree, or some other memorial. Better way to look at it. How can we be remembered together? That's wonderful! (And wouldn't you know, just might have inspired yet another blog. Oh wait. Look who I'm telling. My muse! Of course you know!)

Thanks for sharing, Jade, but did the story have to have such a sad ending? Your friend died??? (Not because of that, I understand, but that she's gone nonetheless....UGH!)

Funny about the kneeing part though... hehehehe =)

Glad your experience worked out where you kept your friend!

LOL, LJB. I do believe you are correct. What a predicament. I hadn't thoght of this one. When you're just more an associate rather than a friend... Sheesh. There's all sort of layers to that cake, aren't there?

Thanks so much for sharing!
